AKA Group International

AKA International was originally established in1972 by Ali Khalil founder and President, at that time he was residing in Canada owning of a chain of well known restaurants. It was later in 1986 AKA established itself in Egypt as a holding company for tourist villages.

Since then AKA has grown over the years into a multi diversified company. The Group encompasses four main sectors, Tourism and Hotels Sector ,Real Estate and Construction Sector, Trade and Duty Free Sector, Management & Service Sector

AKA is one of the first companies to invest in Hurghada, starting with Princess Palace Club and Friendship village, both resorts located on the Mamsha (these are the two plots of land where Princess phase 1 and 2 are being built on)

These quickly became popular destinations for foreigners and Egyptians alike and is still remembered by the local community of Hurghada.

This was followed by the opening of AKA Duty Free, which is easily considered one of the main landmarks of Hurghada When it first opened it was the largest duty free in the Middle East, offering a concept that had never been seen before which was a department store duty free.

This broke records for sales and set AKA above any other investors in Hurghada.

AKA Duty Free was connected to one of our first residential developments and our third hotel, Holiday Center, The project is unique, as it is the first and one of the only buildings with permission to build 9 floors which is very uncommon in Hurghada.

During this time period, AKA had also begun working on its second major residential property, AL Hambra.

This project is comprised of 4 phases, the first of which was completed by 1998, After which we moved into building phase 2 and 3 which had been paused during the revolution due to the political turbulence. We have recently started rebuilding and are ready to launch the sales for the residential portions.

Princess Hotel and Friendship Village were torn down late 2018 and are now in the process of being built into Princess Resort Phase 1 and 2 In 2019 we also began the building process of two other projects, Seville and West El Balad.

Seville is a small project within the gates of Al Hambra, Its compromised of 199 units, all of which overlook swimming pools. These units are all studios and one bedrooms, ranging from 45 m2 to 105 m2. The facilities of this project include 2 swimming pools, a club house, 24 security, concierge service, a gym and spa West El Balad is located next to AKA Duty Free and consists of a 2 floor shopping mall and courtyard area, as well as 450 residential units West El Balad aims to be the first environmentally friendly building in Hurghada.

2020 will also be the year that AKA Duty Free opens its doors to the public again, which is an exciting time for the company.

Why Hurghada?

Hurghada is one of the fastest growing cities on the Egyptian coastal front. With the Red Sea at your fingertips and a lively city experience in such close proximity, Hurghada has something for everyone to enjoy.

It covers five different districts, including Ras Ghareb, El Gouna, Safaga and Marsa Allam. All of these districts use Hurghada as a shopping centre for general and mass supplies, making it the hub of the Red Sea.

There are over 14 existing schools in the centre of Hurghada that include French, German, American and British educations. Along with 3 universities that offer a variety of courses between Hurghada and El Gouna.

The sun shines for 90% of the year, with a daily temperature that averages at around 30oC most of the year. This makes it a calming place to reside or use as a second home when you need a warm place to vacate too.
